In climates with considerable temperature variations and in sandy environments (such as in the proximity of deserts or the sea), road signage is particularly exposed to a high risk of corrosion which requires frequent replacement.

In order to prevent this, enamelling is ideal as it helps prevent rusting and ensures that writing will not fade away. The same applies to plates for outdoor environments, which last much longer when enamel coated.
